Did you know that all product processed here at This Old Farm is handled with the standards required of a certified organic product? Though we don’t exclusively process organic product, we acknowledge that it can help some small farmers achieve a price point that allows their operation to be financially sustainable. Whether or not you raise certified organic livestock, you can be assured your animals will receive the same high quality treatment as those who do.
Our fellow local food advocates from Routes to Farm have asked us to help spread the word about the Organic Grain Conference & Trade Show. If you’re considering getting your farm certified organic, you may find this conference helpful.

The Organic industry is changing. The Organic Grain Conference & Trade Show (OGC) brings together
diverse stakeholders to explore current advancements and issues in grain farming. The OGC is the
largest event in Illinois dedicated solely to organic grain education, research, and networking! The 2019
conference will build upon the first two amazing years by increasing the number of break out sessions
from two to four and growing the trade show to 25+ vendors. The first day will also be a special break-
out track devoted to “Navigating Organic Certification” led by David Hettenbach from Nature’s
International. The main conference day will feature a keynote address by Dr. Francis Thicke on
